Fraction to decimal: This section shows the decimal equivalents of fractions on the most common 1/16th inch scale. This can easily be done with any other fraction not shown in the book. We get these by simply dividing the first number by the second number. For an example, we can find the decimal of 11/32” by dividing 11 by 32. This will give us 0.34375. Using the chart from the book in reverse, you can also quickly find the fraction equivalents to many common given decimals.

Fraction to MM: This chart shows imperial fractions converted into MM. We can find the MM equivalent to any fraction by multiplying the fraction by 25.4. To easily do this, first convert the fraction into its decimal form, then use the multiplier. For example, 1/4” in decimal form is .25 then take the decimal and times it by the multiplier, .25 * 25.4 = 6.35 therefor 1/4” = 6.35mm.

1/32” scale: A reference list showing 1/32” increments going up to one inch.

MM to decimal: This section shows the decimal equivalents of millimeters going up to one imperial inch. This can easily be done with any millimeter not shown in the book. We get these by simply dividing the given MM by 25.4. For an example, we can find the decimal of 100mm by dividing 100 by 25.4. This will give us 3.937.

Inch to decimal: This list shows full inches when dealing with feet. These numbers are easily found by dividing the given inch by 12 ( inches in a foot). For example, a piece that is 5’ 9” when converted into decimal form would be 5.75’.

Inch to CM: This chart gives the centimeter equivalents to inches. We can find these by multiplying the inch by 2.54. For example, to find 50” in centimeters we would multiply 50 by 2.54, giving us 127cm.

Keep in mind, these tables are based off of less than one inch or one foot and are intended to be use in conjunction with larger numbers. When dealing with multiple inches or feet its important to remember to keep the whole number before the decimal equivalent. Using the MM to decimal example from above, we found that 100mm is 3.937, to convert this to inches we need to keep the whole number (numbers before the decimal) in their place and focus on the numbers after the decimal. In this case, using the “fraction to decimal” chart from our book, we can see that .937 is just about 15/16”. Putting this all together we can see that 100mm is equal to 3 15/16”.

Square foot calculator: In the book we give two formulas for finding square footage. One for inches, and one in feet.
